President Muhammadu Buhari arrived
in Tehran, Iran, on Sunday, ahead of the 3rd Gas Exporting Countries’
Forum (GECF) slated for today, Monday, November 23.
The president met with leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, early this morning, Monday, November 23. PressTV reports that during their discussion, Khamenei said that the international coalitions that s helping to fight terrorism cannot be trusted as their members are the ones sponsoring terrorist groups.
“International coalitions claiming to fight terrorist currents are by no means trustworthy, since the very destructive elements such as the US are behind the scenes of creating or supporting terrorists like Daesh,” Ayatollah Khamenei said. See photos below:
The president arrived at the Mehrabad International Airport around
7.15 p.m. local time (4.44 p.m. Nigerian time).and was received by the
Iranian deputy president, Mr Shariat Madri.
Also waiting to receive the president were Dr Ali Magashi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Mr Ibe Kachikwu and the National Security Adviser, Retired Maj.-Gen. Babagana Monguno.
