The wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha Buhari, has released lovely photos in her formal office.
Aisha has denounced herself as the first lady but she is using the official office.
After Buhari’s victory at the presidential election, the wife of the
president made a significant remark about her status saying that she
would prefer to be called the wife of the president of the Federal
Republic of Nigeria rather than the first lady of Nigeria.
However, the formal portrait of the president’s wife was issued several hours after the inauguration on May 29.
Buhari during the presidential campaign first addressed the issue of the Office of the First Lady in December 2014. He said it was not written down in the Nigerian constitution, and there was no official role for presidents’ wives defined in the main law of Nigeria.
In her response Mrs Buhari said that this fact would not stop her from doing her work: participating in different charity activities, visiting orphanages, caring for society’s downtrodden, etc.
